A system was then designed and built for the customer by AMCC Consulting

A customer required a high voltage (1500 V) DC output stage from a standard UK 3 phase set with a power rating in excess of 300 kW.

AMCC Consulting was tasked with designing, building and certifying the complete system ready for production.

In order to minimise the volume, we used state of the art Silicon Carbide modules to perform the boost rectification stage.

Fibre optic sensors and System on Chip FPGA were used to to control the system.

We designed a custom controller and simulated it in Matlab's Simulink before implementing it in embedded C and VHDL firmware.

Safety and performance were key requirements of the project so we worked with Lloyd's Register in order to certify the hardware.

Consumer electronics are in the general public domain and thus have a wide range of standards which they must meet in order to be fit for sale.
